The great lecture hall is full, the professors are waiting and the most important sample of the year is still sitting on a shelf in a draughty laboratory shed on the other side of Paris. Pixel Marie Curie tucks her notebook under her arm, grabs the sample and starts the race her students will later call the Paris Lab Dash.
The cobbled streets are busy with morning life. Delivery crates are stacked outside the shops, students have left piles of books on the pavement, flower sellers push their carts into the way and pigeons swoop low over the squares. Glowing test tubes from the lab are scattered along the route. Collect them and reach the lecture before the bell rings.
