About Pheidippides (Parody)

Pheidippides is a runner from ancient Greek legend. Around 490 BC, the story goes, he ran all the way from Marathon to Athens to bring the city news of a victory, and that famous journey is the reason the modern marathon race exists and carries its name. Historians still argue about the details, but the tale has inspired runners for centuries.

This parody turns the legend into a cheerful pixel hero with a green laurel wreath, a short white tunic, well-worn sandals and stamina that simply does not end. Here the news he carries is always good: a festival, a wedding, the start of the games. It is a light-hearted caricature of an ancient story, drawn in pixel art with a chiptune soundtrack, and it is not a history lesson about Greece or a training plan for real runners.
