The monks of a quiet monastery in Milan want a grand new painting on the long wall of their dining hall, but the old plaster is cracked, flaking and patched in a dozen faded colours. Before a single brushstroke, it all has to come off. Pixel Leonardo climbs the wooden scaffold with a plasterer's board covered in fresh, sticky plaster and a hard little plaster ball.
Every tile the ball knocks loose crumbles into dust on the floor, and the wet board catches the ball each time it comes back, so pixel Leonardo can line up the next shot with care. Lost paintbrushes sometimes fall out from behind the old tiles, worth grabbing. The monks call the job Plaster Pop, and every cleared patch reveals another layer of old plaster, coming in a little faster. Miss the ball three times and the painting will have to wait. How much of the wall can be cleared before supper?
