Pixel Leonardo da Vinci has finally built the cart from his notebooks: a wooden carriage that runs on giant wound-up springs, with no horse in sight. The test drive, which the townsfolk have already nicknamed the Spring Cart Rally, goes from the workshop to the market in the next town, along a road lined with cypress trees and vineyards.
Nobody warned the rest of Tuscany. Ox carts plod along the road, merchants' wagons sway under their loads, riders trot past and a flock of sheep has strong opinions about the right of way. Brass gears lie scattered along the road to keep the springs wound. Steer cleanly, collect them all and prove that the future can run without hay.
