After a long summer away, pixel Charles Darwin comes home to find the walled garden behind his country house swallowed by greenery: yew, box, ivy, hawthorn and brambles have grown into one thick wall, and his notebooks are on the bench on the other side. Armed with a sturdy garden plank and a shiny horse chestnut, he names the evening's experiment Hedgerow Havoc.
Being a naturalist, he soon notices something remarkable: a freshly trimmed hedge does not give up, and eight seconds later it sprouts right back. Only the second trim is for good. Wild orchids drift loose from the leaves now and then, well worth catching. Lose the chestnut three times and it is too dark to carry on. How much of the garden can pixel Darwin win back before nightfall?
