Hurdle Heat

Clear the hurdles, grab the medals, beat the record. Sprint around a packed stadium track with pixel Usain Bolt. Leap over hurdles, kit bags and water coolers, duck under camera drones and grab gold medals in this free one-button runner game.

Twist: Wait until the last moment to jump a hurdle and a PERFECT gives you +25 and a burst of speed.

Parody. Usain Bolt has no involvement in making these games and does not endorse them. The character is an original pixel-art caricature.

How to play

Be brave: jump when a hurdle or kit bag is almost touching pixel Usain Bolt and you score a PERFECT, +25 and a short burst of speed.
Jump too early and you still clear it, just without the bonus. Jump too late and the race is over, so find the sweet spot.
Clear the hurdles, kit bags, water coolers and starting blocks, and stay down when a camera drone swoops low.
Gold medals add 25 points each on top of your distance, and the track keeps getting faster the further you sprint.
To jump, tap, click or press Space or Up, and hold for a higher leap. M switches the sound, P or Esc pauses, and you can share your score.

The story

The crowd is on its feet, the floodlights are blazing and pixel Usain Bolt has been entered in the strangest race of the season: Hurdle Heat, a single lap of the stadium with every obstacle the organisers could find. Nobody mentioned the hurdles until he was already in the blocks.

The track is full of surprises. Rows of hurdles stand in his lane, kit bags and water coolers have been left on the bend and camera drones swoop low for the perfect shot. Gold medals glitter along the way, far too shiny to leave behind. Run fast, jump clean and the record board might need a new number tonight.
