In a quiet lab lit by a single red light strip, a stack of made-up gadget shells waits on the test rig: rugged cases at the top, glass screens and aluminium backs in the middle, light plastic shells at the bottom. Today's review is all about toughness, so pixel MKBHD rides a steel test sled and bounces a polished ball at the stack. The team named the session Drop Test Lab.
The rugged cases on top shrug off the first hits, the middle rows crack on the second, and only the plastic shells give way at once. Now and then a memory card full of test footage falls loose, worth catching on the sled. Each finished wall is replaced by a fresh one that comes in a little faster. Let the ball slip past the sled three times and the test is over. How many walls can pixel MKBHD rate before the lab closes?
