The babies are asleep, Miriam is reading and pixel Daniel Peris cannot switch his brain off. Instead of counting sheep, he counts like his first computer did: in ones and zeros. He calls the habit Binary Bedtime Sums, and he swears it works better than any lullaby.
Every question arrives in binary, and every right answer lights up another lamp on the panel of an old computer beside his desk, with a ripple of light running up the column. A wrong answer ends the round, and the panel counts the lamps again. Light every lamp and the old machine wakes up with a glowing READY. Then, finally, it is time for bed.
