Lightning Glimpse

Match the lab parts by the light of the big coil. Sort the workbench of a mountain laboratory at night with pixel Nikola Tesla. Turn two cards at a time, pair up bulbs, coils, magnets and gauges, and catch a peek at every flash of the big coil in this free memory game.

Twist: Every 7 seconds a flash from the big coil shows every card for a split second, so stay ready.

Parody. Nikola Tesla has no involvement in making these games and does not endorse them. The character is an original pixel-art caricature.

How to play

  1. Click or tap a card to turn it over, or move the cursor with the arrows (WASD) and press Space or Enter. Turn two cards: if they match, they stay face up.
  2. Every 7 seconds the big coil fires and its flash shows every card for a split second. Keep your eyes on the grid and take in as much as you can.
  3. Each pair is worth 20 points, plus 5 for every level. A cleared grid adds 50 points and 5 more for each second left, then a bigger grid is dealt.
  4. Two different cards turn back after a moment, so try to remember them. The round ends when the clock reaches zero.
  5. M switches sound, P or Esc pauses, and you can share your score at the end.

The story

High on a windy plateau, far from the city lights, pixel Nikola Tesla has built a wooden laboratory with a giant coil on the roof. Tonight he is getting ready for his biggest experiment, but the parts on his workbench were packed in matching sets and have been shuffled face down. The neighbours down the valley call the place Lightning Glimpse, because its windows never stop blinking.

Every few seconds the coil fires, and for a split second the flash lights up the whole bench, showing every part at once. Pixel Tesla uses those flashes to grab a quick look before the room goes dark again. Bulbs, magnets, batteries and dials have to be paired before the experiment starts, and each finished bench brings a bigger one. When the clock runs out, the coil powers down. How many benches can be sorted?
