Sprocket Squad

Lead a line of homemade robots around the workshop. Lead a line of little homemade robots across a garage workshop with pixel Mark Rober. Steer with the arrows or a swipe, collect loose hex nuts to grow the line and never bump into the pegboard walls or your own robots in this free snake game.

Twist: Six floor traps click on and off every 3 seconds, so time your path between the hex nuts.

Parody. Mark Rober has no involvement in making these games and does not endorse them. The character is an original pixel-art caricature.

How to play

  1. Six floor traps sit on the workshop floor: they switch on for 3 seconds, then off for 3. Touching one while it is on ends the test.
  2. Traps blink just before they switch on, and the HUD warns you with "TRAPS!" and then "TRAPS ON". When they are off you can roll right over them.
  3. Hex nuts are 10 points each and wake one more robot at the back of the line, which then rolls a little faster.
  4. Every fifth nut lures in a curious squirrel for 6 seconds: catch it for 50 points.
  5. The pegboard walls and your own robots end the round too, and pixel Mark can never turn straight back.
  6. Steer with arrows, WASD or swipes. Sound is on M, pause on P or Esc, and you can share your score at the end.

The story

Deep in a sunny garage workshop, a whole batch of little homemade robots has just been switched on for its first test. There is only one problem: their wheels work, but their steering does not, so they simply follow whatever moves in front of them. Pixel Mark Rober grins, takes the lead and turns the test into a parade. The notebook on the workbench gets a new heading: Sprocket Squad.

Loose hex nuts lie scattered all over the plywood floor, and every one he picks up wakes another robot that rolls in at the back of the line, which grows longer and a little faster with every nut. Pegboard walls and workbenches ring the floor, so one wrong turn ends the test, and so does bumping into the robots behind him. Now and then a curious squirrel dashes in from the backyard, worth a big bonus if he reaches it in time. How long can the squad get?
